Dedicated

Today was a great day! To quote my wonderful wife: "Today we publicly dedicated Norah to the Lord and dedicated ourselves to raising her to truly know Her Heavenly Papa." Most of our family and many of our friends came to support us. Erica purchased a beautiful dress for Norah to wear which most people mistook for a family heirloom. Our favorite part of the outfit was the bonnet.
The Sabins, however, took turns calling her the Amish child and/or Esther Williams as a result. For those of you who aren't familiar with my family tree, the Sabins sprout from my mother's side. They are die hard cynics, and we love them for it, most of the time. Afterward we had lunch and cake at our house. There was much laughing and very little cussing. Like I said, a great day!

Your Age by Eating Out

I got this as a forward. I love that people can do this kind of stuff with math. I cannot. So if you have time, give it a go. - Erica

Work this out as you read ...

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat.
(more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1757 ....
If you haven't, add 1756.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(I.e., how! Many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)
The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2007) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS

The Doctor

We just took Norah to her 6 month check-up. She is 26.25 in and weighs 13 lb. That puts her at the 75th percentile for height (she's been at the 50th at all her check-ups until now) and only the 5th percentile for weight (she's been at the 25th). We hope the drop is due to her recent "fever virus" (i love the descriptiveness of that term). About a week ago she woke up with a fever of 103.1. I was worried! Thank God we have great doctors who are very easy to get a hold of, even at 4:30 on Saturday morning. She wouldn't eat solid foods for a couple of days, but she is back to eating again (everything but avocado, which causes her to gag and cry). Poor avocado.

She Sits

Norah can now sit up unassisted
(longer than the amount of time it takes gravity to pull her down)
